California Science & Engineering Fair The California Science & Engineering Fair is the final science fair of the academic year for students throughout the State of California in grades 6 - 12, serving California's future scientists and engineers since 1952. The fair is hosted by the California Science Center . The 68th annual California Science & Engineering Fair was held on April 29-30, 2019. It's here! -- That's only -299 days away! -- This year there were 947 participants from 404 schools throughout the State who presented 801 projects in competition for awards totaling nearly $70,000. Latest News from the Fair : Category Assignments See this alphabetical list of participants as well as the list of all projects organized by division and category . -- All Projects Organized by division and category. Incomplete Student Applications Check for missing required items on this list of all participants organized by the student’s qualifying affiliated fair. -- Results All judging results are now available, including Category Awards , Major Fair Awards , and External Awards . Photographs coming soon. 2020 Dates The 2020 California Science & Engineering Fair will be held on Monday and Tuesday, April 20-21, 2020. Application Deadlines and other changes from 2019 to follow. Judge Registration Process For all qualified scientists and engineers who wish to judge at the 2020 Fair. Note: The Judge Registration Process is presently unavailable, but will be back online shortly. All judges in past years will be notified when it returns. For all others interested in joining the ranks of our judges, please visit the registration process to indicate your interest in being contacted when it returns. -- Important: No further judges are needed, and no further judges will be accepted for this year’s fair. This process remains open solely for judges who have been assigned to specific judging panels and need to inform us in case they have to back out of their earlier commitment. -- Changes for the 2019 Fair Dates, ISEF affiliation, New certification process required of all projects, and more... Student Application Process Here's how you submit your application to present your science fair project at the Fair, along with a handy checklist of all required materials . The Final Submission Deadline of Wednesday, April 10, has now passed. This process remains available only for missing team members whose teams have already been accepted. No other new applications will be accepted. See also, the list of students eligible to submit applications and the list of applications received . -- Important Message for Students with Yahoo! Email Addresses CSEF email to yahoo.com is being blocked. Award Checks/ Award Medallions Checks for all fair awards were mailed from the California Science Center on Friday, May 25. If you do not receive your award check within the next week, please contact us . All duplicate medallions for team members were sent out a few days earlier, so if you do not receive your award medallion within the next few days, please contact us. Student Application The student application process is nearly ready. In the meantime, please download the Student Application Packet for complete information about this year's Fair. All Participants Shows the current status of all items required before you will be permitted to set up your project display. -- Status of All Applications This list shows all acceptances to date, applicants awaiting decisions, and any missing items which could, if not corrected, prevent students from presenting their projects at the Fair. See also the list of all students who have qualified to participate to date. -- Acceptances Announced (May 2) Registration Status This list shows any missing items which could, if not corrected, prevent students from presenting their projects at the Fair. -- Category Award Photos Photographs of all Category Awards are now available. -- Status of All Participants This list indicates any missing items which will prevent participants from being allowed to set up their displays. -- Student Application Process The database supporting the Student Application System is presently unavailable. Therefore, all students whose application deadline is March 31 will have their deadline delayed to April 1. The application system should be available once again about 9 am Tuesday morning. -- Qualified Students All students who are eligible to submit an application will be listed here. This list includes all students selected by our affiliates to date. Students must still submit an application in order to participate. -- Special and Recognition Awards photographs are now posted. This completes all awards photographs. Many more photographs are in process including the portraits and judging interview period pictures. Awards Ceremony Video Here is the video of participants, projects, and events which was made during the Fair and shown at the end of the Fair during the Awards Ceremonies. Many Photographs Now Available Convenient lists of all available photographs have now been constructed, including one in approximately chronological order as well as all portraits organized both alphabetically and then by judging panel . As of late July approximately 1500 photographs from this year's Fair have been added to the collection with many more yet to come. Award Medallions Mailed (June 25) All medallions for Category Awards that were not collected during the Awards Ceremony have been mailed to the award recipients. All Award Checks Mailed (June 15) Major Fair Award checks were put into the mail today. Award checks for Category Awards were mailed on June 10. This completes all award checks. Student Survey A survey concerning student experiences at the Fair has been sent to every student who was present. If you have not gotten yours, please contact us for a new one. -- Acceptances and Rejections All remaining acceptances and rejections will be announced on this site on Sunday, May 2. All applicants will also receive emailed confirmations of these decisions just before they are posted. See the list of all outstanding applications and acceptances to date. Judging Results (May 1) All judging results including Major Fair Awards , Category Awards , and Special and Recognition Awards are available. Special and Recognition Awards . Also available in a single Excel or PDF file for convenient searching. Portraits Posted (June 10) Portraits of all participants have now been posted. Photographs of All Award Presentations Posted (June 21) Photos of all award presentation of all category awards, major fair awards, and external awards have now been posted . Photographs from the Judging Interview period and from each ceremony are in process. Photographs Posted (May through July) These now include all portraits, all awards presentations, many during the judging interviews, and will include audience shots during the ceremonies.
